IPOH: More policemen will hit the streets in Perak with the focus on major towns in Ipoh, Manjung, Hilir Perak and Taiping.

State police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Zulkifli Abdullah said the people should not be alarmed to see more policemen on the road.

“This is part of our efforts to fight crime. We are deploying more policemen so that they are visible everywhere,” he told reporters after attending a monthly police gathering here yesterday.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan last week instructed police chiefs in Perak, Selangor, Penang and Johor to increase patrols in public places all day to combat crime.
